The market towns of Bungay, Harleston (4 miles) and Diss are nearby, whilst the glorious Suffolk Heritage Coast is an easy drive. Here visitors can explore the elegant resort of Southwold, with its charming traditional pier, colourful bathing huts and excellent restaurants. Also nearby are the delightful seaside villages of Walberswick and Dunwich Heath (NT) – the beachside cafe at Dunwich is famous for its fish and chips. Further along the coast lies RSPB Minsmere, and the shingle beach at the charming fishing town of Aldeburgh is the setting for the controversial Scallop sculpture dedicated to Sir Benjamin Britten. Snape Maltings, Sutton Hoo (NT), Constable Country, Lavenham and the medieval city of Norwich, with its castle, cathedral and fine shopping, are all within easy reach. For families, Africa Alive, Banham Zoo, Bewilderwood and Pleasurewood Hills are all within an hour’s drive. Shops 750 yards, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

The property was perfect for us, we travelled as 3 families all with babies and having the bedrooms spaced apart was fantastic as we had or own space but lovely large living space. The pool was a real treat.

We really enjoyed our holiday at Street Farm Barn, the Barn is very spacious and has lots of bathrooms, always useful with a large family group. Having a private indoor pool was one of the main reasons we booked Street Farm Barn, it was wonderful to get everyone swimming. The Barn is set in a very pretty village and there is lots to do, for all ages, in the surrounding areas. Our favorite was hiring a boat on the Broads - it was fantastic!

This beautiful county is situated to the south of Norfolk, with Cambridgeshire to the west, Essex to the south, and the North Sea to the east. It has much to offer the visitor, including the wetlands of the Broads, the Wool Towns, and a coastal strip to the east known as “The Sandlings”. There are over 5000km of marked paths as well as national cycle routes, along with country parks, nature reserves such as the Trimley Marshes, and picnic sites.
Suffolk’s notable towns include Ipswich (the county town), Felixstowe, Lowestoft, Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket.
West Suffolk is famed for its archaeological discoveries, especially that at Sutton Hoo in 1939. A grassy mound was found to be a ship burial ground containing a collection of Anglo-Saxon treasures, including a Sword of State, a shield, a helmet, gold and silver bowls, jewellery and a lyre. The site is now owned by the National Trust.
